What benefit might I expect from the Vitalize Peel program?
You might observe brighter radiant complexion, reduction in some types of abnormal brown pigment, smoother texture, and improvement in acne or acne marks. The benefits will be seen after one treatment, but continued commitment will generally yield greater benefit.
Are there undesirable side effects that I should be aware of?
With any treatment there is the risk of side effects. Although this is an extremely safe peel, it is also rarely associated with blisters or scabs. A scar is exceedingly unlikely.
What should I do before my peel?
In order to obtain the greatest benefit and lowest side effect risk, it is recommended that you discontinue the following treatments three days before and seven days after your Vitalize Peel.

- retinoids such as Retin A, Stievamycin, Differin gel, Renova, Tazorac
What may I expect during my peel?
First we will cleanse the treatment zone, then apply the proprietary prepping solution. This step may be repeated. You will experience some mild tingling and warmth for 1 – 3 minutes. A cool airflow is available should you find it uncomfortably warm on your skin. The final step is application of the pharmaceutical, Tazorac, which will stimulate the lower layers of skin cells to proliferate, the process often deficient in sun damaged or aging skin. That is all. It takes only 20 minutes.
What may I expect after my Peel?
Most patients leave the clinic looking healthy and glowing. There may be some transient flushing pink complexion. There is no downtime expected. Normal activities are resumed. Over the next 24 to 48 hours you will notice some tightening of the skin, and then the onset of peeling skin. Usually this occurs as sheets of skin peel off, however, the peel may manifest as simple flaking only. The peeling pattern may become more pronounced with the second or subsequent peel.
When may I schedule my next Peel?
The Vitalize Peel is gentle enough to use every three weeks. In fact, the improvement continues with a committed regime of regular peels.
Take good care of your new skin!
Optimal skin care should be discussed with the skin technician or the M.D. consultant at Nirvana. There are topical products that are scientifically established as anti-aging and beneficial for sun-damaged skin.
What should I do after my Peel?
You may be somewhat sun sensitive after a skin peel, and therefore sun protection is particularly recommended. Ask the skin technician to provide you with a sun protection educational write-up to assist you over the rest of your life in preserving your skin.
You might be tempted to "help" your skin peel. Be careful not to pull the skin before it is "ready". There should be no discomfort, bleeding, or redness as the skin sheds.
Use a gentle cleanser. There is no need to scrub. A light moisturizer might diminish the flaking or peels during social encounters.
Resume usual skin care one week after the treatment.
